Our second annual Joy Day is coming! This day of giving, a big sale and giveback event, happens Tuesday, Feb. 18. Mark your calendar and plan to save big while investing in a hopeful future for refugees in Uganda.
This is the day we celebrate company founder Joy Smith’s birthday. We do it Joy-style by giving back to a cause she cares about deeply — Hope Primary School in northwestern Uganda.

What does Joy Day mean for Hope Primary School? Every purchase provides 40 meals for students at the school. Orders over $150 provide 80 meals!
The story of Hope Primary School has a solemn beginning, but it’s providing the foundation for a brighter future for children living in Rhino Refugee Camp.
The camp provides housing to the some five million people displaced by the South Sudanese crisis of wars and, now, political violence. Teachers volunteer to give kids an education, and therapists provide professional counseling to the children who are suffering the loss of their stability, homes and, in many cases, parents.
“These kids, these parents, they want their kids to go to school at Hope Primary,” Joy says. “Part of that is because they’re fed there. The program is so popular that kids from neighboring camps walk a considerable distance to get education and meals.”
The school is often one of the most reliable sources of nutritious food. Currently, the UN is only providing 20% of the residents’ food needs, meaning the school provides a very important function in addition to education.
Last year on Joy Day, our customers generously supported our business and allowed us to provide 200,000 meals to these refugee children.
This year, our goal is 500,000 meals. That’s breakfast and lunch for every one of those 800+ children every day for two full years.
Will you help us meet this ambitious goal, a goal rooted in our company values of compassion, excellence and integrity in all we do?
Sign up for our Early Bird reminder, and we’ll help you remember Joy Day! We’ll text you or email you to let you know when the sale begins when you sign up.
